Jeffrey W. Eckel | download vcard

Mr. Eckel is President and CEO of Hannon Armstrong. His experience, spanning over 28 years, includes starting the federal energy finance practice at Hannon Armstrong, the creation and management of energy service companies operating in the U.S. and internationally, as well as project and corporate finance. He has held senior executive positions as CEO of EnergyWorks, and as CEO of Wärtsilä Power Development. Mr. Eckel received a B.A. from Miami University and an M.P.A. from Syracuse University, Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs.

Mr. Eckel has testified on energy matters before a U.S. Senate Subcommittee and the California Energy Commission and published papers on demand-side and supply-side energy topics, with the Electric Power Research Institute and the Financial Analyst Journal.

He combines 20 years of commercial banking, government contracting and institutional lending experience. He received a M.B.A. in Finance from Marymount University and a B.S. degree in Economics from George Mason University.

Mr. Chuslo is Senior Vice President and General Counsel and is responsible for structuring, developing, negotiating and closing transactions for Hannon Armstrong. He brings more than 17 years experience in the field of commercial and project finance. Mr. Chuslo recently worked as the Senior Legal and Finance consultant to the U.S. Department of Energy Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy. Prior to this he worked as an associate attorney for Chadbourne & Parke, LLP, practicing in the power project finance group and earlier with Davis Polk & Wardwell, practicing in the corporate finance group. Mr. Chuslo graduated with a B.A. in History from the University of Massachusetts/Amherst and with a J.D. from the Georgetown University Law Center.

Ms. Sharma is a Senior Advisor to the company. She possesses over 11 years of operating, technical, management and finance experience in the energy field, within both the O&G and power sectors (conventional and renewable power generation) and spanning the US, India, Colombia, Brazil and Venezuela. In her present role she oversees the technological, regulatory and financial aspects of selected transactions, with a specific focus on renewable energy projects. She is also the acting CFO of a Texas-based company currently developing a 300MW wind farm. Previously, she launched HSH Nordbank’s tax equity advisory and placement business in the renewable energy sector. She also led project financing mandates for several renewable energy projects. Ms. Sharma previously worked at Goldman Sachs in the investment banking division focusing on power/utilities and alternative energy where she was directly involved in over $15BN of financing transactions. She also possesses operating experience in the energy field, including 6 years at Schlumberger in various capacities, from oil exploration engineer to manager of an oil field location in Brazil.

Ms. Sharma graduated from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) with a degree in Chemical Engineering and has an MBA degree in Finance and Entrepreneurial Management from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
